Iconic N.J. deli announces 5th N.J. location — and teases a 6th

After expanding just two years ago to Westfield, the famed Millburn Deli is breaking ground once again in a brand-new area: Hudson County.
The beloved local New Jersey sandwich chain is coming to Jersey City.
The company announced the expansion in a playful Instagram post on Friday, wondering how word got out only days after they signed the lease.
“I guess this is our official announcement… Jersey City coming 2025,” said the post’s caption, which also teased a potential Bridgewater location announcement.
The Instagram post also suggested the news was leaked and jokingly questioned if someone blabbed.
“*waits for someone else to announce Bridgewater so we can announce that too*,” the company also said in the post.
The Jersey City location will be Millburn Deli’s fifth location. The others are located in Millburn, Morristown, Montclair and Westfield.
The deli is aiming for a spring 2025 opening in a 1,600-square-foot storefront, according to a report from The Hoboken Girl.
First opened in 1946, the Millburn Deli — and its revered Sloppy Joe — has routinely made NJ.com’s rankings of the state’s greatest delis and sandwiches.
The new Jersey City location will open at 101 Hudson St. in the city’s Exchange Place neighborhood, the company said.
